The Section intends to promote the development and application of the most innovative methodologies currently available for research and experimentation in the field of social and environmental sciences.
The MEFOR section provides support to other sections or independently participates in external projects, applying and developing the following methodologies:
- network analysis;
- NK type simulation models;
- agent simulation models.

For the methodologies listed above, the MEFORM section can also provide the following activities:
- design of theoretical and empirical research, with the detection of data suitable to be analyzed with the methodologies mentioned above, design of questionnaires, databases, etc;
- training of experts in this field, through specialized courses at various levels of study.
